Marlene Bulas

Marlene Bulas

The key elements of Marlene Bulas’ contemporary paintings are good design, value, light, shape and colour. Her inspiration for local landscapes often comes from onsite sketches in the Georgian Bay area, as well as other parts of Canada and the broader reaching world around us. A major influence on her work has been her mother who studied with the Group of Seven, as well as the encouragement of her husband and three children. As Bulas states:

“My art has become a metaphor of my own life’s journey – exhilarating, unpredictable, and joyful- and it is my desire to share this experience with the viewer.”

Marlene Bulas obtained her Bachelor of Art from York University in 1993 and has attended Georgian College Design and Visual Arts Program from 1996 - 1999 as well as numerous art workshops throughout Canada and the USA. Bulas’ paintings have received recognition in both Canada and the USA through her participation in numerous exhibitions in Alliston, Barrie, Collingwood, Orillia, Penetanguishene, Toronto, Windsor, Buffalo, Westfied, New York, Florida, Calgary and Montreal. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, the United States, United Kingdown, South America, Caribbean, France, Saudi Arabia, Panama and Bermuda.
