Jodi Kitto-Ward

Jodi Kitto-Ward grew up in Oakville, ON, and acquired an education and career in business and accounting before pursuing her interest in art. Since her artistic beginnings, she has dedicated great time and commitment to a painting practice that draws inspiration from the landscape, urban environment, and her everyday life in Hamilton, ON where she lives and works.

Kitto-Ward uses her own photographs as reference material for her compositions. Influenced by the graphic visual language of Pop Art and Art Deco, she emphasizes simplified, representational forms and hard edges to accentuate the colour and overall design of her paintings. Her most recent series explores the city and the natural world that exists within its boundaries to offer a source of calm, restorative contemplation and connective thinking.

Kitto-Ward received her education through Sheridan College where she graduated from their Fine Arts Program. She is also an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA), the Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) and the Colour and Form Society (CFS). She has exhibited her work in numerous group shows and international juried exhibitions. Her paintings may be found in private collections in Canada.
